Northern Lights Beanie: Pattern - Part 7
Just a reminder, the brim will add an additional 2” (5 cm) to your crocheted hat.
If you’d like your hat to be a bit shorter or longer, crochet more or less rounds from the main hat body section.
The raised ribbing made by the FPhdc stitches in the brim rounds should line up with the accent stitches in the last main hat body row.
For example, if your accent stitch is 2 stitches over from your starting point, you would BPhdc in the first stitch then FPhdc in the next. See photos below.
If you changed the amount of main hat body rounds for your size, you will need to crochet the brim instructions that will make the ribbing line up with the accent stitches.
I like to use a modified FPhdc and BPhdc for crocheted hat brims. It creates a stretchier brim.
Once you are ready to crochet the brim, break accent yarn.
Continue using main yarn colour.

I’ve linked to certain products within this pattern. If you click and then purchase one of the products, I will earn a small commission. The awesome thing is, the commission doesn’t come out of your pocket, it’s paid to me by a big company. I would never recommend a product to you unless I think it is valuable. Every item I recommend in this tutorial is something I personally use.
